Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has stirred reactions with her statement to a lady who said she prefers dating Yahoo boys to working-class men.
The lady, in an interview, said she prefers dating Yahoo boys because they know how to spoil their babies and enjoy clubbing, which she loves. She noted how most working-class men would want their wives to be housewives, which is something she can never do.
“Working class go tell you to dance or make you dey cook for am. Most of the guys are Yahoo and young; it’s all these old men that are working-class, like 30 and upwards are working class. But, you cannot see any guy of 20-something that isn’t pressing. I prefer Yahoo Boys because they have a club vibe. A working-class cannot take you to the club; Yahoo boys will carry you to the club. Working class will tell you to stay at home and cook, and I don’t like stress”.
Reacting to her statement, Kate stated that is why the lady would end up getting killed for ritual because of her wrong mindset.
“Na so dem go take pieces you for ritual. Yeye mindset”.
While many concurred with the movie star, others slammed her for justifying murder.
One Oluwafunmilayo wrote, “Her mindset is wrong but nothing can ever justify murder
One Onion Cider wrote, “This is so wrong to say. How is murder justifiable?
One Body Piercings By Lola wrote, “Femicide is never justified, even as a joke. It’s not okay to kill or use someone for ritual because of their wrong mindset
One Chi Sandra wrote, “Doesn’t guarantee that but why the dragging?
One Beri wrote, “Is this the best way to prove your point? Murder? Where una dey even get this audacity?
One Your Girlfriend wrote, “This is not a cool thing to say, nothing justifies murder
One Adunni wrote, “Hello this is very wrong to say
One Big Baby wrote, “No, no, no. This is so wrong to say
One Peace Ighodaro wrote, “The truth is bitter
One Big Alex wrote, “This generation is a mess
One Lucy Nkem wrote, “Tomorrow now, they will be shouting justice for this kind of gal”.
This isn’t the first time Kate Henshaw has stirred the internet with her statement. The actress had stirred backlash with her Father’s Day message, as she shared a passage from the Bible, giving a shout-out to Fathers who are responsible for their kids. She prayed for God’s strength, favor, and blessings on them.
Her message didn’t sit well with many who pointed out the double standard at which she wished all mothers Happy Mother’s Day but was only celebrating responsible Fathers.
Kate replied, stating that it was her timeline and her tweet. Hence, she could do whatever she wanted. In another tweet, she told those dragging her that she was going to enjoy her life as she noted how they would be alright. Kate made them know that the name-calling doesn’t shake her.
