Qualifying for next year’s U20 AFCON will be the priority of the Flying Eagles, according to coach Aliyu Zubairu.

The Flying Eagles are defending WAFU B U20 AFCON champions after they defeated Benin two years ago.

“Get to the final and get the ticket to the U20 AFCON is the No 1 priority certainly,” declared coach Aliyu Zubairu.

“After that we can think of defending the championship.”

The U20s are in Ikenne putting finishing touches to their buildup to the WAFU B qualifying tournament in Togo, which kicks off October 17.

They are billed to play test matches against some NPFL clubs before they head out to Lome.

The Flying Eagles are pitched against Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire in Group B in Togo.
