Unknown gunmen abduct FRSC official in Enugu, demand N50 million ransom

A Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) official, Emeason Chima, has been kidnapped in Nsukka, Enugu State, by unknown gunmen, who are now demanding a ransom of N50 million.

Chima, who is attached to the FRSC’s RS4.211 Ugbokolo unit, was abducted on Saturday near Maduka University.

According to an FRSC internal memo, Chima was driving alone in his Toyota sedan when the gunmen attacked.

The kidnappers contacted the Ugbokolo unit commander, Emmanuel Al-Hassan, using Chima’s phone to issue their ransom demand.

The memo signed by Emmanuel Al-Hassan, Ugbokolo unit commander read: “The Command Is In Receipt Of Information About The Kidnap Of SRMA Emeason Chima.

“Place Of Incidence: After Maduka University, Nsukka Enugu Road through OPI junction, in Enugu State. Information extracted so far confirmed that the staff was driving alone in a Toyota saloon car when he was kidnapped.

“The unit commander has already been contacted by the kidnappers using the staff phone, where a demand of 50 million ransom has been made.

“Further details will be made available as events unfold.  This is forwarded for your information and further guide sir.”
