Victor Boniface redeems himself with match winner after penalty miss

Victor Boniface today netted his seventh goal of the season and it proved to be the match winner for Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on a day he also missed a penalty.

Leverkusen had to fight back from an early goal by visitors Eintracht Frankfurt to win 2-1.

The home team drew level after 25 minutes, before the Super Eagles striker struck in the 71^st minute.

He headed home from inside the box a poor clearance by the Frankfurt defence.

It was redemption for Victor Boniface after he missed a penalty in the ninth minute.

Leverkusen have thus shot to fourth on the table with 14 points from seven matches.
