Jack Wilshere has reached an agreement to become first team coach at Norwich City, according to talkSPORT.
Wilshere is expected to link up with Johannes Hoff Thorup at Carrow Road following talks with the Championship club.
The former midfielder who was first scouted by Arsenal aged nine, retired from playing in 2022 and has been working coach of Arsenal’s Under 18s.
He made 197 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 14 goals along the way.
During this time as a coach of the U18s he has led them to the FA Youth Cup final in 2023
The next step in his career is a move into first-team football, with Norwich keen to offer him that opportunity.
Wilshere did interview for the role with MLS club Colorado Rapids, before also applying for the job with Scottish side Aberdeen.
The Canaries have made a great start to the season and sit in seventh place in the Championship having picked up 15 points from nine games so far.
The 32-year-old will succeed Narcis Pelach, who left Norwich to become head coach of Stoke in September, at Carrow Road
