Yul Edochie faces backlash after sharing post on ‘importance of apologizing’

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is making headlines again, but not for his films.

This time, it’s due to a controversial post he shared that has drawn widespread criticism, especially as he deals with his high-profile divorce from estranged wife May Edochie.

The divorce, in part, is linked to his relationship with fellow actress Judy Austin.

On September 28, Yul posted on Facebook about the importance of apologizing.

He encouraged his followers not to be too proud to say “I’m sorry,” explaining that all humans are imperfect and that acknowledging mistakes is essential for growth and healing.

He emphasized that many people have lost their lives because they refused to apologize to those they had wronged.

Yul also warned that holding grudges could burden the soul and make a person vulnerable to spiritual harm.

His post read:
“Never feel too big to say ‘I’m sorry.’ We’re all humans, no one is perfect. In this life, you’ll wrong people, and people will wrong you. Apologize when you wrong someone. Many people have lost their lives because they failed to apologize to people they wronged. It can weaken the spirits that protect you and make you prone to spiritual attacks.”

However, the message was met with strong backlash.

Followers accused Yul of hypocrisy, arguing that he has no right to talk about apologies until he sincerely apologizes to May Edochie, who has won an Africa Achievement Award, for the pain he caused her.
