Nigerians have reacted to the comments made by Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrick Motsepe regarding the scary situation the Nigerian Super Eagles faced in Libya.

Pulse Sports reported that Super Eagles players and officials were subjected to harsh treatment in Libya ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last week.

The three-time African champions were scheduled to face Libya in the return leg last Tuesday but could not participate after being held hostage for over 20 hours at a small airport.

Their flight to Benghazi was diverted just before landing, marking the beginning of their ordeal, which lasted 24 hours.

CAF President gives update on Nigeria's situation in Libya

Amid growing criticism, CAF's president has intervened, stating that the organisation will take appropriate action, saying that the investigation is ongoing.

“That process is being properly investigated and appropriate action will be taken, "Motsepe said.
