AAAU, ENAC Sign MoU For Strategic Partnership

The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) in Abuja has reached a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) in Toulouse, France, on September 23, 2024.

Led by the Registrar, Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, the AAAU delegation proposed a strategic partnership with ENAC, outlining several key areas of collaboration. 

The MoU includes an Advanced Masters Programme designed for industry professionals and an exchange programme for undergraduate students, aimed at fostering knowledge transfer and academic enrichment.

Additionally, the agreement includes advanced training programmes for AAAU lecturers and explores opportunities for AAAU faculty members to engage in affiliated lecturing roles based on their expertise that aligns with ENAC’s needs.

This partnership follows an initiative by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), which began in February 2024. It is expected to further solidify AAAU’s standing as a leading aviation university in Nigeria and a pioneer in Africa.

Through this collaboration, AAAU will gain access to ENAC’s extensive expertise and resources in the aviation industry. ENAC, a renowned national university under the French Civil Aviation Authority, brings over 70 years of experience in aeronautics, flight training, and air navigation.

ENAC boasts a large student body, advanced training programmes, over 1,000 aircraft and Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulators, and a faculty of more than 890 permanent staff, along with 1,400 affiliated lecturers. With 28,000 alumni worldwide and 350 continuing training sessions annually, ENAC is a global leader in aviation education.

Of particular note is ENAC’s strategic partnership with Airbus, Europe’s largest aeronautics and space company, which strengthens the institution’s role in aeronautics research and civil aviation education. This partnership offers AAAU valuable insights and opportunities for collaboration in the dynamic aviation sector.
