Lookman scores, but Atalanta fall 3-2 at home against Como

Atalanta suffered a surprising 3-2 home defeat to newly promoted Como in a thrilling Serie A encounter on Tuesday night.

Despite goals from Davide Zappacosta and Ademola Lookman, Como, led by legendary footballer Cesc Fabregas, secured their first win of the season.

The rescheduled match from Monday, saw Atalanta take the lead in the 18th minute when Zappacosta struck with a half-volley from the edge of the area.

However, Como responded with a second-half onslaught. Gabriel Strefezza equalized shortly after the break, and Nico Paz’s deflected shot off Sead Kolasinac made it 2-1.

Alieu Fadera extended the lead moments later with a fine finish.

Though Atalanta pressed hard in the final stages, they only managed a consolation penalty in the dying minute, converted by Nigerian star Lookman after Vanja Vlahovic was fouled.

Despite the effort, Como held on for a famous win that will go down in their history books.
