A yet-to-be identified female corpse was discovered under the Dei-Dei Bridge along the Zuba-Kubwa Road, Abuja, in the early hours of Tuesday.

The woman’s body was reportedly found around 6 a.m. with visible injuries on her head and hands, prompting speculations that she may have been hit by a vehicle.

Sama’ila Musa, a witness at the scene, told Daily Trust that the corpse attracted the attention of several passersby, including security personnel stationed at Dei-Dei junction.

“It seems like she was knocked down by a vehicle. The injuries on her head and hands suggest she might have been hit while crossing or near the road,” Musa stated.

According to Musa, environmental officials accompanied by security operatives and vigilantes have evacuated the body.

The area has been cordoned off for further investigation as officials try to determine the circumstances leading to the woman’s death.

Musa also recalled a similar incident occurred two weeks ago in the same area, when a commercial motorcyclist was found dead near the pedestrian bridge.
“It was suspected that hoodlums attacked and killed him before stealing his bike,” he added.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh, for comment on the incident were unsuccessful.

On May 4, 2024, the body of a woman, identified as Kadoon Louisa Lornumbe, was found near Tipper Garage Bridge in Mpape, believed to be a victim of the “one chance” robbers who prey on unsuspecting passengers.

On August 9, 2024, the corpse of a crossdresser was found on the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway.

The Nigeria police force have yet to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
