Coach Emmanuel Amuneke has admitted it was a big relief after Heartland recorded their first win of the NPFL season.

Michael Ogu scored twice for the Owerri club to turn back visiting Niger Tornadoes Sunday.

Heartland have lost three of their first five matches before this win.

Amuneke said: “I am happy for the players.

“We deserved this moment of joy.

“It has given us a relief and it will give us the confidence going into our next the match against El Kanemi.”

Heartland have now climbed out of the relegation zone with four points from five matches.
