Mary Ezekiel , one of the members of Team Kaduna Cricket team who won the gold medal in the event is already looking forward to defending the gold won in Asaba 2024 Youth Games.

An excited Mary Ezekiel who helped Team Kaduna improved in their last effort of winning the bronze in 2023 Youth games to gold medal in the 2024 Asaba National Youth games told our correspondent that it’s going to be tougher defending the title next year, but they won’t relent in their effort to ensure they keep winning the gold medal.

Mary said : ” We will go back to Kaduna to go and prepare ourselves ahead of next year’s edition, because I know next time when we are coming here , it will be tougher and as every team will want to avenge what we did to them”.

Team Kaduna girls cricket team defeated Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti en route to the final before defeating the host, Team Delta in the final.

Mary who is attending is second National Youth Games said she enjoyed that whole experience and described Delta State as an hospitable state where people love to stay.

The 2024 Asaba, National Youth Games ended on Thursday, 19 September 2024 as thousands of Nigeria youths participated in the numerous games and event on offer.

The annual U-15 multi-sports event will return to Asaba in 2025 for the 2025 edition.
