Controversial crossdresser, Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, is currently being held at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State, where he spent the night behind bars.
According to a source, Bobrisky was taken to the FCID for safekeeping after being arrested by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) during an attempt to leave the country through the Seme border. The source added that further directives regarding his case were being awaited.
The source explained, “Bobrisky was brought to the FCID, Alagbon, around 10 p.m. on Monday after being arrested at Seme border by Immigration officers. He has been detained at the FCID since then.”
The spokesperson for the FCID in Lagos, Mayegun Aminat, confirmed Bobrisky’s detention, stating, “He is with us at the FCID, and we are awaiting a remand order to keep him in custody.”
Earlier, the spokesperson for the NIS, Kenneth Udo, issued a statement describing Bobrisky as a person of interest due to recent public concerns. Udo noted that Bobrisky was intercepted while attempting to exit the country and is currently undergoing interrogation.
He added, “Bobrisky will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The Nigeria Immigration Service remains committed to its duty of securing the nation’s borders and will continue to handle its responsibilities in a professional manner.”
