Actor and gospel singer, Longinus Anokwute, aka Chief Imo, has released a new song titled, ‘Ndi Papa’.

According to him, the song is to appreciate and encourage fathers for their roles in taking care of their families.

The singer revealed that he had faced criticism from men after he released a song praising mothers.

He said, “After I released ‘Nneoma’, which  I sang to appreciate mothers, there were criticisms from men, who  accused musicians of only praising mothers and forgetting fathers.”

He, however, added that the new song was not a result of the criticism he got, but because of his passion to sing about fathers too.

He said, “The new song is not premised on the critics because I always had it in mind to sing for fathers too, but I kept the plans on the back burner. It is also not about any competition between fathers and mothers, because fathers are the head and do not need much praise. All the happiness and praise the fathers needs is reflected on the family, and he gets acknowledged when the family is doing well.”

Speaking further on the theme of the song, Chief Imo, “It is pertinent that we should acknowledge the efforts of the men no matter how little. So, I went to the studio and composed a very special song for fathers too.

“It is a prayer for all the fathers that God will continue to strengthen them and give them good health. They will not die young, but live to eat the fruits of their labour.”
