Let me begin by saying, “A strong heart isn’t built in comfort, but in challenges.” Life will throw obstacles your way—times of hardship, moments of doubt, and situations that test your resolve. But it’s in these very moments that you are called to develop a heart that is unshakeable. The Ultimate Book tells us in Psalm 112:7, “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” Friends, “When your heart is grounded in faith and purpose, no storm can shake you.”

Consider the story of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a renowned economist and Nigeria’s first female Minister of Finance, who later became the Director-General of the World Trade Organization. Ngozi’s journey to global prominence was not an easy one. Throughout her career, she faced criticism, opposition, and even threats to her life while trying to implement economic reforms in Nigeria.

During her time in office, she worked tirelessly to address Nigeria’s debt crisis and bring about financial transparency. Yet, her efforts were met with stiff resistance. At one point, her mother was kidnapped by opponents who wanted her to abandon her reforms. In such a moment of fear and personal attack, many might have given up. But not Ngozi. She remained firm, with an unshakeable heart, refusing to back down from doing what she believed was right for her country.

Instead of letting the threats defeat her, Ngozi stayed the course. She worked with integrity, resilience, and a clear sense of purpose. As a result, she successfully negotiated a debt relief deal for Nigeria, which saved the country billions and set the stage for economic recovery. Her story shows us that “An unshakeable heart doesn’t quit in the face of adversity—it presses on with even greater determination.”

As people of faith, we are reminded in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Friends, “When your heart is fixed on God’s promises, you’ll find strength to endure every challenge life throws your way.” With an unshakeable heart, you can stand firm no matter what comes.

As I conclude, let me remind you that “True strength is found not in avoiding challenges, but in rising above them.” Whatever trials you’re facing—whether in your career, relationships, or personal life—don’t allow them to shake you. Stand firm, knowing that you have the resilience to overcome.
