According to Vanguard, two political thugs, Edwin Obanor and Audu Tajudeen, were taken into custody during a nighttime raid on multiple locations.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer said the police recovered three locally fabricated pistols and one locally made gun from the suspects.

Obanor, 43, and Tajudeen, 41, a Peoples Democratic Party member, were apprehended at Oredo Ward 4 and Igara Akoko, respectively.

The police acted on a tip-off that these individuals were armed and planning to cause chaos during the election.

ACP Adejobi emphasized that these arrests demonstrate the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring a peaceful electoral process.

The police and other security agencies will not tolerate any violence or disorderliness during the election.

The suspects are currently in custody and will face the full weight of the law. The police urge citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through their published helplines.
