EPL: Man City Eyeing Xabi Alonso As Guardiola’s Replacement

Premier League champions, Manchester City are eyeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s manager Xabi Alonso to be their next manager if Pep Guardiola doesn’t renew his contract.

The Spaniard first full season with Leverkusen saw him become the favourite to replace Jurgen Klopp at former club Liverpool.

But Alonso rejected the opportunity to return to Anfield, opting to stay at Leverkusen for at least one more season.

City, however, are firmly interested alongside Real Madrid, the club Alonso left Liverpool for in 2009.

The blues are reportedly considering potential candidates as Guardiola’s contract expires at the end of this season.
