EPL: Salah sends Liverpool to top of table after 2-1 win over Wolves

Liverpool climbed to the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 win over Wolves, thanks to a decisive penalty from Mohamed Salah.

The Reds overcame a defensive blunder that allowed Wolves to briefly level the match in the encounter at Molineux.

Ibrahima Konaté opened the scoring for Liverpool just before half-time, heading in his first Premier League goal.

Wolves equalized through Rayan Aït-Nouri, who capitalized on a mix-up between Liverpool’s Alisson and Konaté, slotting home after a VAR confirmation.

However, less than a minute later, Wolves conceded a penalty as Nelson Semedo brought down Diogo Jota in the box.

Salah calmly converted the spot-kick, sending Liverpool back into the lead.

Despite a late push from Wolves, including a crucial last-minute block by Konaté, Gary O’Neil’s side extended their winless run to ten Premier League matches.
