Midfielder Shakirat Moshood took her goals tally at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup to three, following her brace in another emphatic win for Nigeria in the group stages.
Moshood inspired Nigeria’s 4-0 victory against Ecuador in their second group A encounter – the team had earlier defeated New Zealand 4-1.
Nigeria and Ecuador entered the match as first and second respectively in the group, with both teams eyeing early qualification to the next round.
But, it was the Nigerian girls who proved to have the mentality and Moshood’s (28′) first half goal set the tone.
Harmony Chidi (54′) and Peace Effiong (66′) followed suit before Moshood (90+6′) closed out the scoring, as the team sealed back to back wins to advance to the quarter-final.

Nigeria final group game against host, Dominican Republic will all but confirm top spot finish.
The teams will clash on October 22, at the Estadio Félix Sánchez, Santo Domingo.
Should Nigeria top the group, they’ll set up a mouthwatering encounter against runners up from Group B.
Group B houses Spain, The USA, South Korea and Colombia.
Spain have also won two games, while Colombia (2nd) and the USA (4th) will aim to improve from their opening day performances.
Colombia were held by South Korea to earn a point, but the USA lost to Spain, 3-1 in their first match of the tournament.
