A quarterfinal rematch between Nigeria's Flamingos and the USA is brewing at the 2024 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.
Nigeria's under-17 team known as the Flamingos have qualified for the knockout stages of the 2024 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.
The team led by Bankole Olowookere made history in the final group game of the tournament.

Onyedikachi Ekezie, Peace Effiong, and Harmony Chidi were replaced by Rokibat Azeez, Blessing Ifitezue, and Ramotalahi Kareem in Coach Bankole Olowookere's three-man starting lineup.
In the two teams' last Group A play at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup on Wednesday morning, Shakirat Moshood scored a 24-yard goal in the 89th minute to give Nigeria all three points against a determined Dominican Republic team.
The Flamingos' victory puts them three points ahead of Ecuador, who defeated New Zealand 4-0 to end with six points and set up a match against Spain on Sunday.
As expected, Nigeria will play the USA in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
