Former Senate Majority Leader Jonathan Zwingina has reportedly died. While his family has not officially confirmed the news, reliable sources indicate he passed away on October 2 in Abuja.

His death is considered a significant loss to the Nungurala community, Adamawa State, and Nigeria at large.

Zwingina was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, serving two terms for the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District from 1999 to 2007 before switching to the All Progressives Congress.

He recently celebrated his 70th birthday in August 2024.
