In the vibrant world of Afrobeats, the playful rivalry between music superstars Wizkid and Davido has become a topic of conversation among fans and industry insiders alike. With their frequent banter lighting up social media, the question on everyone’s lips is: what’s really going on behind the scenes?

Wizkid's Father

In a recent interview, Chief Munir Balogun, the father of popular afrobeat star, Ayo Balogun, aka Wizkid, weighed in on the situation, sharing insights that provide a glimpse into the dynamics at play. “Yes, I’ve read it. I saw it on Facebook and Instagram, and I read what everybody was saying,” he said, acknowledging the fervor surrounding the ongoing back-and-forth.

When asked for his perspective on the rivalry, he revealed he had advised Wizkid to stay above the fray. “I told my son that he shouldn’t look or listen to whatever the boys who are supporters of Davido are saying,” he stated. His message was clear: ignore the noise. “The supporters are only looking for what they will say to collect money and all of that. They are just looking for what they are going to eat.”

The advice is not just about ignoring critics; it’s a call for a measured response. “I’ve told my son to take things easy with them and overlook whatever they say because I don’t blame them,” they added, emphasizing the importance of maintaining focus amidst the chaos.
