Junelle Bromfield's inspiring story: How my life changed from overcoming depression to having 'the most' in three years

Still basking in her new reality as an engaged wife-to-be and on-track success as a two-time Olympian, Noah Lyles' fiancee Junelle Bromfield detailed her sensitive life's journey in the past three years, one which took a period of overcoming depression in 2021 to this period of having the most.

In an emotional and inspiring story posted on her Instagram page, Bromfield shared the struggles she overcame from family loss and not making the Jamaican senior team - a period that tested her faith but built a strong foundation for hope and unbelievable mental strength.

"So usually, I don't post videos like this because I usually don't like sharing emotional stuff about what's going on in my life. I'm usually sensitive to that. When it comes to family affairs and all of those things, I get very sensitive. But a while ago, a video popped up on my phone. It was a video of me from back in 2020," said the Jamaican 400m runner.

"At that time, I was struggling. My mom had just gotten cancer. I wasn’t making any senior teams, and honestly, life was just sad. It was COVID; it was very, very sad," she recalled.

"In that video, I was telling myself... 'Life will get better. God has not forsaken you. I lost my brother the year before [2020]. She [my mother] died in 2021," she continued.

“But life also started to change because that’s three years. And in that time, I’m a two-time Olympian. I got an Olympic bronze medal. I got a world championship medal. I’m about to move into a neighborhood I never dreamt I'd ever be able to move into, basically.

"October… I hate October. But I feel as if this month has changed so much because the month that's usually my worst has become one of my most, what would you call it? It’s like a harvest season."
