The Nigerian U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, saw their impressive World Cup journey come to an end after a hard-fought quarterfinal against the United States, concluding in a 2-0 defeat.

This match carried particular significance, as it was the first face-off between the two teams since Nigeria famously edged out the Americans in the quarterfinals of the 2022 tournament.
