Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, North West Nigeria, has received 29 state-sponsored students for Postgraduate studies from India.

The Governor while receiving them at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, also announced a new round of foreign scholarships for postgraduates at both private and public universities within and outside the country.

The 29 students had recently completed their master’s degrees at SR University in India, marking a significant milestone in the state’s foreign scholarship program.

These graduates are part of a broader initiative by the Kano State Government to sponsor 1,001 students for advanced studies, aimed at empowering the youth with global knowledge and skills.

Governor Yusuf in the company of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso personally received the students, underscoring the importance the administration places on education and human capital development.

He congratulated the returning scholars on their achievements, praising their determination and hard work.

He highlighted the critical role that the newly acquired knowledge would play in contributing to Kano’s socio-economic growth.

“Your success is a testament to the potential that exists within Kano youth, and it is our responsibility to ensure that more talented individuals are given the same opportunities,” the Governor said.

Details of the engagement were contained in a press statement by the Governor’s spokesperson Sanusi Bature.
