Nigerian TikTok personality Peller has reportedly attracted the attention of the FBI following claims of past involvement in “yahoo-yahoo” (internet fraud).
This allegation was made by Kemi Olunloyo, a well-known investigative journalist, in an audio post on her social media. Citing an alleged source within the FBI, Olunloyo claimed that Peller’s past cybercrime activities are now under scrutiny.
According to Olunloyo, Peller admitted during a TikTok live session that he had once engaged in internet fraud before shifting to content creation. She advised the 19-year-old to be cautious about his remarks, warning that past admissions could lead to legal trouble.
She compared Peller’s situation to that of Hushpuppi, a Nigerian influencer currently serving a prison sentence in the U.S. for cybercrime. Olunloyo stated, “If you know Peller, pls tell him to SFTU. He is about to single-handedly ruin his own future,” emphasizing the risk of increased scrutiny on influencers suspected of fraudulent activities.
The claim has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some dismissing it as just another controversial statement from the journalist, while others have highlighted the serious implications if the allegation holds true.
