Diogo Jota scored the decisive goal as Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 to maintain top spot on the Premier League table.

Palace had a goal ruled out for offside after 30 seconds with Eddie Nketiah caught in an offside position.

Liverpool took the lead with their first real attack of the game in the ninth minute.

Cody Gakpo ran on to Kostas Tsimkas through ball and centered for Jota, who dribbled past Trevoh Chalobah before slotting the ball into the net.

The Portugal international missed the chance to double Liverpool’s lead after the hour mark when he mistimed his header from Trent Alexander -Arnold’s cross.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson went off injured 11 minutes from time after he was forced into a hasty clearance.
