Soldiers, Village Head, Three Others Killed In Borno

No fewer than five people have been reportedly killed following an ambush on a military convoy in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

The ambush that reportedly occurred on Monday night killed military personnel, a village head and a chairman of a civilian task force in Marte.

Some of the casualties with serious injuries were taken to Maiduguri for medical treatment while others with minor injuries were in New Marte.

The incident happened barely two months after a Superintendent of Police and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was killed in Marte.

When contacted to confirm the incident, the State’s Police Spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth said the command was yet to receive such a report.

“I’m yet to receive such reports,” he said.
