Super Eagles of Nigeria star Ola Aina returns to training with Nottingham Forest after Libya horror show.

Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Ola Aina is back on the pitch.

The defender left England to represent Nigeria during the international football break.

Ola Aina and Super Eagles in Libya

Aina was named in the starting eleven by head coach Augustine Eguavoen for the Super Eagles' first leg against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Following the victory, the Super Eagles traveled for the return leg in Libya.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were met with unfriendly conditions upon their arrival for the matchday four fixture against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

Libyan officials have made good on their threat to mishandle the Super Eagles and the Nigerian delegation ahead of the return qualifying encounter in Benina.

The plane that was supposed to take the Nigerian team to Benghazi was diverted to a different city, two hours drive away.

The players and their agents were kept inside Al Abaq Airport's arrival hall for several hours and were not allowed to leave.

After several social media photos, the Super Eagles were able to board a plane back to Kano, Nigeria.

Aina and Nottingham Forest

Aina returned to Nigeria after intervention from the authorities and President Bola Tinubu.

He has departed Nigeria and is now back with Nottingham Forest in England.

Nottingham Forest rose to the top of the trends on social media with a photo of Aina in training.

Aina is expected to return to action when Nottingham Forest takes on Crystal Palace in a Premier League fixture scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2024.
