Ten Hag Sacked As Manchester United Manager After West Ham Defeat

Erik Ten Hag has been sacked as the coach of Manchester United following Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League.

The Dutch manager has been under pressure after the team’s poor start to the season, which saw them win just once in eight matches.

Ten Hag led Manchester United to the FA Cup trophy last season but the team endured their lowest finish in the Premier League and conceded the most goals in their history.

The club confirmed on Monday afternoon that Erik Ten Hag has been sacked, and Ruud Van Nistelrooy will take charge on an interim basis until a new manager is found.

The Statement Read: “Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager.

“Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.

“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited.”

Van Nistelrooy will take charge of his first match in the interim capacity against Leicester City at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
