‘This is not acceptable’ - Popular gospel singer reacts to Libyan FA's harsh treatment of Super Eagles

Popular gospel musician Nathaniel Bassey has reacted to the harsh treatment faced by the Super Eagles and their delegates from the Libyan FA.

The Nigerian national team faced a terrific moment in Libya after their host left the team at the airport for more than 15 hours.

It was reported that the team’s flight was diverted to another airport and were left stranded by the host.

The situation has led to several comments on social media, with many calling in the team to return to Nigeria.

One of the most popular gospel artists in Nigeria has called on the Nigerian government to take immediate action regarding the situation.

Nathaniel Bassey responded to Super Eagles captain Troost Ekong’s post, where he said the team had been abandoned at Libya airport for 12+ hours after their plane was diverted whilst descending.

He claimed that the Lybian government rescinded their approved landing in Benghazi for no reason. 

He mentioned that they locked the airport gates and left us without a phone connection, food or drink, all to play mind games.

The gospel singer quoted the captain’s post on X and said, “I am just reading this, and this is not acceptable. 

“The federal government should please look into this and take action immediately. YOU CAN’T TREAT OUR BOYS THIS WAY. OUR BOYS SHOULD BE BROUGHT HOME. SAFETY FIRST !”

Many big personalities have also called on the Super Eagles team to return to Nigeria and forfeit the game.

Meanwhile, Boniface and other players have begged for help, claiming the situation 'is getting scary'.
