Ahmed Musa Condemns Super Eagles’ Ill-Treatment in Libya

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has strongly criticized the treatment of the Nigerian national football team and officials during their trip to Libya for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

In a post shared earlier today on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Musa expressed his disappointment over the situation.

He wrote: “I’m extremely disappointed by the unjust treatment of the Super Eagles, the NFF officials, as well as dignitaries in Libya.

This is not sportsmanship, and I want the football governing body, @CAF_Online, to intervene and investigate this incident. I stand with the players in this difficult time.”

This statement follows reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) decided to pull the Super Eagles out of the match due to poor treatment upon their arrival in Libya.

The team’s plane was diverted, and players were left stranded at the airport for over 13 hours without food or water.

The Super Eagles are reportedly on their way back to Nigeria as the situation continues to unfold, as the Cofederation of African Football (CAF) has started investigation into the whole issue.
