Tinubu Swears In New CCB Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Abdullahi Bello as the new Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

In June, the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions screened and confirmed the nomination of Bello as the CCB’s substantive chairman for a five-year tenure.

Bello’s swearing took place at the State House Council Chamber during Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The president had mandated the new CCB chair to ensure the bureau realises its mandate of maintaining high standards of public morality.

Bello replaces Aliyu Kankia who was holding the office in acting capacity.

“Dr. Bello is a consummate professional with more than 25 years of work experience in consulting, banking, law enforcement, financial services, and academia,” said Ngelale.

“The President anticipates that the new Chairman, upon confirmation by the Senate, will lead the Bureau with utmost integrity toward the realization of its mandate of maintaining high standards of public morality in the conduct of government business and ensuring that the actions and behaviour of public officers conform to the highest standards of morality and accountability,” the presidency had said.
