Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has lamented the rising airfares for local flights.

He said traveling within Nigeria is very expensive, last month, he flew from Guangzhou, China to Singapore on AirAsia, with a transit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The one-way ticket cost him only $105, and at the time, the exchange rate to Naira was $1 = N1,605, meaning the total was N168,525 for a 5hour 30 minute international flight. While Lagos-Abuja now is N286,000 as Air Peace hikes airfare by 100% nationwide.
