BI Presidential Scholarships: Shall we explore a fully-funded scholarship opportunity in Norway?

Applications are currently being invited from applicants all over the world for the 2024 BI Presidential Scholarships to study in Norway.

The Scholarships will cover full tuition fees and a stipend for each semester, for the period of your study in Norwegian universities.

Once you are able to achieve the academic progress required as a scholarship holder, your funding will be automatically renewed as an international student.

BI Presidential Scholarships Details

The BI Presidential Scholarships are currently open to all interested domestic and international students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Norwegian universities.

The scholarship will be awarded to high-achieving students who have demonstrated academic excellence with international education background.

BI Presidential Scholarships Requirements

To be eligible for the postgraduate BI Presidential Scholarships, applicants must be:

  • Candidates must have a minimum overall GPA of ‘A’ on the ECTS scale or the equivalent top-level grade on international grade scales to be considered.
  • Students in the 3rd year of the Sivøk programme are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with Norwegian citizenship or international citizenship from EU/EEA/Switzerland.
  • Citizens of countries from outside the EU/EEA who are residents of Norway may be eligible, depending on their residency status. Please see list on this webpage to determine eligibility.
  • If you fall in this category, include documentation of residency with your scholarship application letter. 
  • International applicants (all citizenships) who moved to Norway for their bachelor studies and will complete a bachelor’s degree in Norway (full 180 ECTS) in spring of year of application.
  • International applicants with citizenship from outside the EU/EEA must not have a break in studies between the completion of their bachelor’s degree and the commencement of their master’s degree.
  • Candidates admitted to a Master of Science degree programme at campus Oslo or campus Bergen, with the exception of the BI-Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing.

Note: International applicants with citizenship from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland who are not residents of Norway are not eligible for this scholarship.

For the 2024/25 academic session, the BI Presidential Scholarships will accept applications to all the programmes offered by the Norwegian School of Business.

BI Presidential Scholarships Benefits and Timeline

For Undergraduate students, Bachelor International Scholarship will cover 50% of tuition fees for up to three years, if the student maintains the academic progression requirements for scholarship recipients.

For Postgraduate Students;

Norwegian and International Applicants who are residents of Norway: Scholarships will cover full tuition fees for each semester, for up to two years, if the student achieves the academic progression requirements.

Sivøk Applicants: Scholarships will cover full tuition fees for each semester, for up to two years, if the student achieves the academic progression requirements.

International Applicants: Scholarships will cover full tuition fees and a stipend for each semester, for up to two years, if the student achieves the academic progression requirements.

The stipend is to assist with living expenses but does not cover all expenses (approximately 70%).

  • Scholarship offers are not sent with offers of admission. You will receive the offer of admission first.
  • Applicants must accept the offer of admission while awaiting scholarship decisions.
  • Scholarship offers will be sent to selected candidates throughout the admission cycle.
  • Scholarship offers must be accepted by the date indicated on the offer. Scholarships not accepted by the deadline will be withdrawn/cancelled and awarded to another candidate.
  • All scholarships will be awarded by the end of April with the exception of the A. Wilhelmsen Foundation Scholarship and the BI-Luiss Joint Master in Marketing Scholarship which are awarded later in the spring.
  • All scholarship applicants, including those not selected, will be informed of the scholarship application decision by the end of April.
  • Applications for scholarship are not accepted by email. 
  • Always apply for a scholarship at the same time as you apply for admission on the online application portal.
  • Write a scholarship application letter, maximum one-page, outlining why you should be considered for this scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, not on financial need.
  • Upload it to the section marked ‘Scholarship’ in your online application for admission.
  • Include all the required documentation to be evaluated for admission. The scholarship application will only be considered if a complete application for admission has been submitted.
  • Applicants currently in the final year of high school must provide final transcripts as soon as they are available in June, no later than June 27.
  • International applicants who apply for the BI International Scholarship will also be considered for the Women in Finance and Tech Scholarship (if eligible). A separate scholarship application letter is not required.
