Barcelona is aiming to return to their iconic Camp Nou stadium, currently under renovation and expansion, “by the end of the year,” according to club spokesperson Elena Fort on Monday.

The club outlined its construction timeline, emphasizing that they are “actively working” towards reopening Camp Nou with an initial capacity of 62,000, lower than the planned 105,000 capacity once renovations are fully completed. The full modernization of the stadium, part of the larger “Espai Barca” project, is expected to be finished by the summer of 2026, which will include the installation of a new roof.

In the coming days, Barcelona fans will have the opportunity to register for a six-month partial season ticket for the second half of the current season.

The renovation of Camp Nou began in June 2023 but faced delays due to permit issues and concerns over working conditions. As a precaution, the club has requested to extend their contract for the use of the Montjuic Olympic Stadium until March 31, 2025.

The club remains committed to completing the ambitious project despite the setbacks.
