“I’m not afraid of you” – Denmark’s Kristiansen on facing Lamine Yamal

Denmark’s left-back Viktor Kristiansen delivered a solid defensive performance against Spain’s teenage star Lamine Yamal during their Saturday clash.

Spain picked a narrow 1-0 victory against the side in a Group 4 Nations League match.

Despite Yamal’s usually impressive form, he was unable to make a strong impact in Murcia.

Kristiansen, speaking to Ekstra Bladet (via Marca), shared his approach to the battle with Yamal.

“I didn’t think about whether they would get a yellow card. It was just coming in and saying, ‘Hey, I’m in the fight too. I’m not afraid of you,’” he explained.

His tough, fearless attitude seem to have neutralized Yamal in the game, forcing him to have minimal impact.
