International Students Can Apply for the Master Mind Belgium Scholarship at KU Leuven University 2025
The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training awards scholarships to outstanding students from all over the world for Master’s programmes in Flanders and Brussels. A Master Mind Scholarship includes a grant of €10,000 and a tuition fee waiver per academic year.
The Master Mind Scholarships are a highly competitive opportunity. Applicants will be competing against other international students with excellent academic records. A strong application will increase your chances of being selected.

The Master Mind Scholarship, funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training, awards €10,000 per academic year and provides a full tuition fee waiver for outstanding international students pursuing Master’s programs in Flanders and Brussels. Scholars pay only a small administration fee.
Which Fields are Eligible?
Eligible Master’s programs in Flanders and Brussels, except preparatory programs, bridging programs, and distance learning.

Who can Apply for the Master Mind Belgium Scholarship at KU Leuven University?
All nationalities except Russian citizens.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence with a high GPA.
- Students should have obtained their previous degree outside of Flanders.
- Applicants must meet the English language proficiency requirements (TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge CPE) unless exempt.
- Students must not be enrolled in a Flemish institution except for a specific preparatory program.
How are Applicants Selected?
Applicants are nominated by their Master’s program after the January 15 deadline. KU Leuven nominates up to 20 students, who then compete with other candidates at the Flemish level. Final selections are made by the Flemish government based on academic performance, motivation, leadership abilities, and more.
Which Countries Are Eligible?
All nationalities except Russian citizens. Specific scholarships are reserved for Japan (3), Mexico (3), Palestine (2), and the USA (5).
Where will the Award be Taken?
At a recognized Master’s program in Flanders or Brussels, Belgium.
How Many Awards?
30 Master Mind Scholarships are awarded by the Flemish government, with KU Leuven nominating 20 candidates.
What is the Benefit of the Award?
- €10,000 per academic year
- Full tuition fee waiver
- Scholars only pay an administration fee (for reference, €131.50 in 2023-2024).
How Long Will the Award Last?
One academic year for 60 ECTS programs or two academic years for 120 ECTS programs.
How to Apply for the Master Mind Belgium Scholarship at KU Leuven University:
Submit a complete application for an eligible Master’s program by January 15, 2025, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form. Register your Master Mind candidacy through the online registration tool, which opens on October 17, 2024.

It is not possible to apply for these scholarships separately.
