J. Cole reveals why he retracted diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar

American rapper J. Cole has revealed the reason for retracting a diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar.

J. Cole had fired back at Lamar in a track called ‘7 Minute Drill‘, where he rapped “he fell off like the Simpsons” after Lamar dissed him and Drake in Future and Metro Boomin’s song ‘Like That’.

During his performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, J. Cole took time to apologize to Lamar, explaining that his recent single ‘Port Antonio‘ was influenced by people who wanted to stir up drama for attention and profit.

He stated that if he had continued with the diss, it would have caused bad blood between him and Lamar.

In his lyrics, J. Cole said, “I pulled the plug because I saw where that was about to go, they wanted blood, they wanted clicks to make their pockets grow. They see the fire in my pen and think I’m dogging smoke. I wouldn’t have lost the battle, dog, I would’ve lost a bro, I would’ve gained a foe, and all for what?”
