Aston Villa’s promising striker, Jhon Duran, has committed his future to the English Premier League club by signing a contract extension that will keep him at Villa Park until 2030.

Jhon Duran, a 20-year-old Colombian forward made the move to Villa Park from Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire in January 2023 for a substantial £18 million transfer fee, initially signing a five-and-a-half year deal until 2028.

During the summer transfer window, there was significant interest in Duran from Premier League clubs such as Chelsea and West Ham, but he ultimately decided to stay with Aston Villa.

His decision has been justified by his impressive performances, having already scored six goals this season, including a crucial goal in a 1-0 victory against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Jhon Duran has been the match-winner for Aston Villa on several occasions in the Premier League, scoring decisive goals against West Ham, Leicester, and Everton.

Since joining the club, he has scored a total of 14 goals in 56 appearances, establishing himself as a key player under manager Unai Emery, who signed him as his second acquisition after taking charge in October 2022.

Additionally, Duran has also represented his country, Colombia, at the senior level, earning 12 caps and scoring one goal for the national team.
