Matawalle Vows To Send Terrorists’ Informants Back To Their Creator In Sokoto

On Thursday, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle vowed to send terrorists’ informants back to their creator if they do not repent.

Matawalle disclosed this during an assessment visit to Gundumi village, Isa and Sabon Birni local government areas of Sokoto state.

During the visit, the Minister was reportedly saddened by the few people in the village.

Speaking to the community, he said, “This place used to be lively with a lot of business activities. I assure you it will bounce back. We are going to cite a military base here.

“But you must fear God. Those who have been calling and informing bandits about the movement of security operatives and also about their brothers should desist henceforth. You better repent or we send you back to your creator.

Meanwhile, while speaking at the launch of “Operation Fansan Yamma” by the military, on Wednesday, the minister noted that the fight against insecurity transcends the duty of security agencies alone, but for all Nigerians.

He said, “Therefore, journalists have a greater role to play because we know the bandits have been flooding social media platforms with all sorts of propaganda.

“Our media houses must continue to report successes recorded by our gallant military in the fight against banditry and insurgency.

“Just recently, the military dealt a big blow to the miscreants by neutralising a notorious bandits’ kingpin, Halidu Sububu who happened to be their major supplier of arms and ammunition. And there were other kingpins who were sent to early graves too.”

Earlier, the Nigerian Military announced the killing of no fewer than 165 terrorists, while arresting 238 persons in the past week.

Among those killed, according to the military, is the notorious terrorist commander in Jigawa State known as Mai Hijabi.
