Victor Osimhen and Galatasaray may have outclassed Fenerbache in the Intercontinental Derby, but their bitter city rivals have now taken up ‘Gala’ in the boardroom with various allegations, ranging from tax evasion to under-paying players and illegal betting advertisements.

At the weekend, ‘Gala’ won the derby 3-1 with Osimhen playing the entire duration.

Fenerbache have now gone on the offensive against their city rivals, demanding for actions to be taken against Galatasaray to “clean up” Turkish football.

They have formally lodged a complaint to several agencies including the Turkish football federation, ministeries of finance, sports and interior against ‘Gala’.

The petition was signed by Fenerbache director Fethi Pekin, who is in charge of the club’s legal affairs.

“Our expectation from our state is to take the necessary legal steps as soon as possible, to examine the issues we have mentioned in detail and to inform the public,” concluded the complaint.

“Justice is the order of society. In the absence of justice, nothing can be just and legal, and it is not possible for sports competition to take place under equal conditions.

“Unfair competition should no longer be allowed in terms of sports and economy, and we should not remain silent against further damage to Turkish football.”
