PPP, best way to go for infrastructural development – Keyamo

The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has announced a collaboration with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission aimed at advancing infrastructure development in Nigeria.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by the head of press, Federal Ministry of Aviation, Odutayo Oluseyi, on Monday.

Keyamo emphasised that Public Private Partnerships offer the most viable path for infrastructure development in the country.

“Public Private Partnership is the best way to go if Nigeria’s infrastructure must develop,” Keyamo said. He revealed plans to establish a task force with a clear timeline to expedite the partnership’s delivery.

“The Minister stated that Public Private Partnership is the best way to go if Nigeria’s infrastructure must develop and promised to set up a task force to drive the collaboration with a fixed timeline to ensure quick delivery.

“He explained that upon assumption of office as Minister, he met lots of litigations which he has ameliorated and urged ICRC to follow all legal processes in their quest for Public Private Partnership”, he explained.

Expressing gratitude to the ICRC for initiating the collaboration, Keyamo reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to fulfilling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We are committed to delivering on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated.

The Director General of the ICRC, Jobson Ewalefoh, commended Keyamo for his achievements in the aviation sector in such a short time.

He explained the purpose of the meeting: to foster collaboration with the Ministry to improve infrastructure.

“We considered the Aviation Ministry as a pivotal ministry for driving the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President. Your ministry is key in driving the economy of the country, and we have decided to come to you because of your achievements,” Ewalefoh said.

The ICRC helmsman emphasised that the Commission has removed all administrative bottlenecks and promised to get it right going forward.

He said that there was every need to embrace PPP since the country is faced with infrastructure decay.

“With the right Infrastructure in place we will attract many investors into Nigeria, this is the time to improve the infrastructure in the aviation sector and we commend Mr Prisident for his commitment so far”, he added.
