Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has promised Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho more playing time in the team.
Iheanacho joined Sevilla on a free transfer during the summer after running down his contract at Leicester.
However, the forward has struggled with getting enough playing time under Garcia, limiting his performance.
The Super Eagles star has started only five games for Sevilla this season and has failed to score or provide any assist.
Garcia speaks on Iheanacho’s playing time
Iheanacho's work ethic has impressed Garcia Pimienta, who thinks the Nigerian attacker will soon begin to get more playing time.
According to Infobiwenger, Garcia said, “I’m happy, the other day he was going to come on to the pitch.
“But Suso’s injury happened and that was a huge impact on us because he’s training well. The lad deserves to play more minutes.
“The other day, even though the result wasn't good, I was going to put him in,” Pimienta said ahead of Sevilla game at Espanyol on Friday.
Pimineta has stated that he is confident in Iheanacho's ability and will soon start getting the reward for his hard work.
Iheanacho would like to score his first goal to be able to pin down a shirt, and he could see his minutes grow dramatically.
Meanwhile, Iheanacho’s teammate Chidera Ekuke will miss up to three months of action after suffering an injury against Barcelona.
