Update: “I Want a Super Eagles Call-Up” – Chijioke Expresses Desire from Ukraine

In a recent interview with Dailysports’ expert Oleksandr Ryzhenko, 20-year-old Nigerian footballer Chijioke Kingsley Aniagboso, currently playing in the Ukrainian Premier League side Chornomorets Odesa, expressed his desire to break into the senior Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.

Having been part of the Nigeria U-20 team and promoted to the senior squad after the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Chijioke is eager to get more opportunities to represent his country on the senior stage.

“I was part of the national team. After the U20 World Cup, I was promoted to the senior squad. Now, I want to play more and earn a call-up to the Super Eagles,” he said.

The young midfielder also shared his friendship with current Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, whom he described as “a wonderful guy and very hardworking,” recalling their time spent together in national team camps before Osimhen became a star for the senior side.

“Osimhen is my friend. We have been in the same camp before the Super Eagles. He’s just a wonderful guy, and he is hardworking,“ Chijioke remarked

Despite his promotion, Chijioke feels that he hasn’t had ample opportunities to showcase his skills on the international stage.

His stint in Ukraine has provided him with valuable experience, but he believes that regular inclusion in the Super Eagles will accelerate his development and allow him to contribute more effectively to the team’s success.

“Playing with the Super Eagles would not only be an honor but also a platform to further hone my skills and bring pride to Nigeria,“ he added

Chijioke’s appeal comes at a time when the Super Eagles are preparing for crucial fixtures ahead of major tournaments.

The player’s passion and determination to don the green and white jersey again speaks volumes, and fans will be watching closely to see if the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) responds to his plea.

With several Super Eagles players excelling across Europe, competition for a spot in the team remains fierce, but Chijioke’s ambition is clear—he’s ready to make his mark on the senior stage.
