Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for a 2-day official visit to Sweden, representing Nigeria in strategic bilateral engagements aimed at enhancing collaboration between the two nations.

During the visit, Shettima will meet with Swedish government officials, including Crown Princess Victoria and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, focusing on strengthening ties in areas like ICT, digitalisation, sustainable transport, and agriculture.

A key highlight of the visit will be discussions with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital impact investor, which has launched the Norrsken22 fund—a $205 million tech investment initiative for Africa.

With 40% of these funds expected to be invested in Nigerian tech entrepreneurs, Shettima’s talks will focus on ensuring Nigeria’s technology ecosystem benefits from this opportunity.

In addition to government meetings, twelve Nigerian private sector companies engaged in business with Sweden will accompany the Vice President, marking a broader effort to attract investment and promote Nigeria’s economic reforms to the global business community.

The Vice President is expected back in Nigeria by Saturday.
