German champions Bayer Leverkusen dropped further points in the Bundesliga against Stuttgart with Victor Boniface disappointing.

The match marked a disappointing outing for Nigerian striker Victor, who was unable to capitalise on several scoring opportunities at the BayArena on Friday night.

Despite the clean sheet, which was Leverkusen's first of the season, the team dropped crucial points again after the last time at Werder Bremen in their quest to defend their invincible title in the league. 

Boniface, who had been in fine form leading up to the match, struggled to find his rhythm and was substituted in the 86th minute for Patrik Schick in the encounter that also featured compatriot Nathan Tella after a night filled with missed chances.

With this draw, Bayer Leverkusen remains in third place in the Bundesliga standings but face increasing pressure as they look to close the gap on league leaders Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.
