Nollywood Actress Wunmi Toriola’s new movie “Queen Lateefah,” released on September 27, has grossed over ₦57 million in just three days.

“Queen Lateefah” is Toriola’s directorial debut film, surpassing several other films released in the cinema this year.

With ₦57 million opening weekend at the box office, speculations claim that “Queen Lateefah” might be gearing up to be the highest-grossing non-holiday movie in 2024.

From lowest to highest, here are the box office numbers pulled during the opening weekends for Nollywood movies released in 2024 so far, Ajosepo (₦32 million), King of Thieves (₦42.9 million), Lakatabu (₦48.1 million), Queen Lateefah (₦57 million), and Beast of Two Worlds (₦63.2 million).

The movie depicts the life of a businesswoman named Lateefah Adeleke, who tells grandiose tales about traveling around the world and belongs in the upper echelon of society. However, her ludicrous tales all come crashing down when she meets with Jide Rhodes, who reveals her secrets.

The film stars A-list actors like Kunle Remi, Nancy Isime, Femi Adebayo, Elvina Ibru, Gbugbemi Ejeye, Enioluwa, Bimbo Manuel, Broda Shaggi, Lateef Adedimeji, KieKie, and more.
