COAS Very Much Alive – Nigerian Army Affirms

The Nigerian Army has affirmed that the Chief of Army Staff is alive in spite of fake news that is still being peddled by bloggers and some online publications.

The Nigerian Army had earlier Refutes claims of Leadership Gap Speculations when it Confirmed that the COAS, Lieutenant General Lagbaja had proceeded on leave and the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Abdulsalami Bagudu Ibrahim is acting on his behalf against claims of leadership vacuum in the Army.

The Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu had earlier said the news of leadership vacum in circulation in some media is mere speculation, as all routine and scheduled activities of the Service are on course as the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General is on leave and medical checkup abroad.

Despite these clarifications, some online publications had taken it further to claim that the Chief is dead further stretching and fueling the damage that fake news can cause.
