One-time African Footballer of the Year Victor Ikpeba has said he believes Victor Boniface has a chance to score his first goals for the Super Eagles while asking the Bayer Leverkusen striker be given time to settle in the national team.

“The matches against Libya have given Boniface an opportunity to score goals for the Super Eagles,” Ikpeba said on Monday Night Football programme of Supersport TV

“He cannot stop scoring goals in Germany and will now have the self-belief and confidence to score against Libya.”

Ikpeba also asked that the Bayer Leverkusen striker be given more time to establish himself in the Super Eagles.

“He will need time to adapt to the national team,” he said.

“I remember that I was doing well at Monaco, but it took me some time before I settled in the Super Eagles.”

The 23-year-old Victor Boniface has yet to score for the Super Eagles in eight appearances.
